Dan Wexler served as a Special Assistant to the President and Associate Director of the White House Public Liaison Office under President Clinton. He directed the outreach to a wide variety of constituency groups and worked on budget, crime, healthcare and education public policy issues. He also coordinated many events for the President, Vice President and First Lady. He developed and maintained the Administration’s relationship with Professional and Amateur sports and directed all of the President’s events with championship teams. In addition, he accompanied the President on many international trips to coordinate the participation of American interests abroad. Previous to his service in the White House, he worked in a variety of Government Affairs and Public Affairs position including two years in the Carter Administration as an Assistant to the Director of the ACTION Agency.
He joins Wexler Walker Public Policy Associates as a Strategic Alliance Partner. For the last ten years he has specialized in sporting and health issues. Recent sporting issue areas include: increasing federal funding to put physical education back in schools, keeping steroids out of schools and other issues related to amateur sports and youth services. He recently served as a member of a congressional advisory Committee called Zero Tolerance whose purpose was to advise Congress through the Government Reform Committee on how to deal with the issue of steroid abuse in professional and amateur sports.
Mr. Wexler also works on environmental issues in Southern Florida. The primary focus is water quality and Everglades restoration. Mr. Wexler graduated from Boston College.
